PRESCRIPTION POLICY
We are committed to providing you with the best possible medical care. We do not think we can provide excellent medical care when we allow patients to be treated with prescription medications without being seen and evaluated by a physician.
Your clear understanding of our Phone In Prescription Policy is important to our professional relationship. Please ask if you have any questions about this policy.
- PATIENTS ON MAINTENANCE MEDICATIONS - Some of our patients take daily medication for an ongoing problem that has been diagnosed by one of our physicians. We will continue to call in medication refills for those patients over the course of one year. All patients must be seen and evaluated on an annual basis to continue to receive maintenance medications.
- PATIENTS SEEN WITHIN ONE MONTH AND NO BETTER - Patients who have come to the office within the last thirty days with an acute problem and have been prescribed a medication by a physician might feel that they have not improved after completing the medication. That patient may contact our office nurse to discuss other appropriate treatments.
- POST OP SURGICAL PATIENTS - Patients who have had surgery within two weeks can call our office nurse to discuss any medication needs they might have.
- OTHER PHONE IN REQUESTS - All other patients must be seen by a physician before any prescription medicine can be prescribed.
THANK YOU for taking the time to review our policies. Please feel free to ask any questions or share with us special concerns.
